Dr. Ivan Miller
Short & intermediate day onion
I studied agronomy
and plant breeding at the
University of Florida and at Iowa State University.
After completing my
PhD,
I joined Dessert Seed Co.
as an onion breeder and worked with that program through various company
changes until leaving in 1996.
I then became Assistant Director of the University of California Desert
Research and Extension Center in 1997.
In 1999 I started a small onion breeding program under the company name
Desert Gold Seed Company. While pursuing this onion breeding program, I
also worked as an
instructor at the Imperial Valley College, teaching agricultural Science,
math and statistics.
In July 2004 I joined United Genetics as
short and intermediate day
onion breeder and
manager of the Brawley research station. The onion breeding program I
had developed at Desert Gold Seed Company has been incoporated into
United Genetics' onion program. |
